When you add links on Reddit, most of them get removed.
Yes, you can create and grow your own subreddit, but sometimes even in your own subreddit, Reddit's filters remove posts and comments with links.
However, over the last year, Reddit has been pushing Apps as a more interactive way to engage with users.
They've built something similar to the App Store or Google Play inside their platform, allowing you to build apps and integrate them into your subreddit.
In fact, Reddit even has an incentive program running from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, with rewards of up to $167,000.
Also, there is a company using this feature to qualify leads and drive traffic to its lead generation website through Reddit. It was shared with me by my friend Fintan.
In this article, I'll explain what it is and how you can use it on your subreddit to drive traffic to your website.
Reddit's App Store Called Devvit
As building apps becomes much easier with AI, Reddit is actively promoting apps through its platform called Devvit.
While people mainly come to Reddit for genuine human experiences, the web in general is becoming more interactive, so it makes total sense for Reddit to evolve beyond just text and images.
Basically, you can develop games, apps, and various moderation tools to manage your subreddits and make them more interactive.
Here is the link to Reddit's app platform, where you can learn more about what it is and how it works: https://developers.reddit.com/docs
However, for this article, I want to focus more on practical examples of how you can use these apps for your business.
The company Compare the Leaf is using an app on Reddit as a way to qualify leads and drive traffic to its website.
Everything looks legitimate and genuinely helpful to users.
The app contains pre-qualification questions that help better understand users' needs and provide personalized recommendations based on their answers.
Instead of sending users directly to a website, the app first gathers information and then suggests the most relevant solution which looks trustworthy.
